Five Questions to Ask Before a Limited-Time Deal
A countdown makes the decision feel urgent. These questions put the purchase back on your schedule.
1. Was this already on my list?
If the offer created the need, pause. A discount on an unplanned item can still increase spending.
2. What is the delivered price?
Include shipping, required add-ons, membership fees, and any quantity needed to unlock the offer.
3. Is the timer meaningful?
Some promotions genuinely expire; others reset or recur. Search the exact item and check whether similar offers appear regularly.
4. What happens if I wait?
Measure the real cost of delay. Replacing a failed appliance is urgent. Upgrading a working one usually is not.
5. Can I return it normally?
Short windows, return shipping, restocking fees, and final-sale terms reduce the value of a discounted purchase.
Sniffer rule: A good limited-time deal survives five minutes of calm verification.
