Start with the retailer

Use promotions displayed by the retailer, manufacturer, or another source you trust. Be cautious with sites that demand notification permissions, software installation, surveys, or unnecessary personal information merely to reveal a code.

Build the intended cart first

Add only what you planned to purchase. Record the subtotal, shipping, and existing promotions before entering a code so you can see precisely what changed.

Read the result

“Code accepted” is not enough. Verify the dollar discount, eligible item, minimum purchase, shipping changes, and whether another valuable promotion disappeared.

Do not test with payment information exposed

Use the retailer’s secure checkout and confirm the domain before entering account or payment details. A coupon website never needs your store password or card number.
